Luis Salinas

( Naar de Nederlandse vertaling.)
I received a mail at keepswinging@live.nl from Sean who sent me a short, but clear message: Try listening to Luis Salinas, a superb Argentine guitar-player. So I did and he was right. Luis Salinas is a great guitar player !!
Although Luis Salinas is rather unknown here in the Netherlands he is a well known guitar player in Argentina and in other parts of the world. Last week he was sceduled for concerts in Buenos Aires and next week you´ll have to travel to Mexico if you want to see him. Next month he will be in Spain for some concerts in Madrid, Murcia and Barcelona and at the Patrimonia Festival in Corcega ( France ).
He was born in Monte Grande, a city near to Buenos Aires. He learned himself to play the guitar when he was a kid, thanks to his father who was a musician too. He learned to improvise on his instrument and to listen to the great Argentine musicians. He made ten CDs and three DVDs up to now and the way he plays the guitar is praised by musicians like George Benson and Baden Powell. I'm happy I can share with you some fragments of concerts where you can listen to Luis guitar playing. In the third fragment you can hear how Luis Salinas was inspired by ............ Oscar Aleman ! Great !! It must be a great experience to hear him live in concert and I hope to find one of his albums soon.

Thanks Sean for your suggestion !

Nederlands ( To the English translation )
Ik ontving een kort berichtje op mijn keepswinging@live.nl mail, waarin Sean me meldde: Try listening to Luis Salinas, a superb Argentine guitar-player.

Bedankt Sean voor je tip !
